West Ham interviews now underway for major behind-the-scenes arrival as David Sullivan gets ready to sign cheques
No Premier League club is in turmoil quite the way West Ham United are right now.
West Ham fans protested against David Sullivan and Karren Brady ahead of their defeat to Brentford on Monday in Nuno Espirito Santo‘s first game in charge at the London Stadium.
There’s a growing sense of anger towards the board, who sacked Graham Potter a month ago, replacing him with the only manager he was able to beat this season.
There’s a full-scale meltdown happening at West Ham and things don’t look as though they’re going to get better any time soon.

West Ham line up new head of recruitment after Kyle Macaulay exit
When Potter was sacked, Kyle Macaulay also left West Ham after a short spell as the club’s head of recruitment.
Ultimately, Macaulay had little chance to put his mark on the side that was largely put together by former technical director Tim Steidten, who was hired in July 2023 and left in February 2025.
People who put together squads need more than a year and a half, or a few months, as was the case with Macaulay. But ultimately, the ins and outs are something that Sullivan has always been unable to keep his mitts off.
According to the Daily Mail, West Ham are now interviewing Macaulay’s successor in the head of recruitment role.

As it stands, “highly-rated analysts” Maximilian Hahn and Dylan Curnell are keeping tabs on potential targets for the January transfer window. However, it’s ultimately “Sullivan who signs the cheques”.
Who are West Ham’s January transfer targets?
It seems like we’re never a few days away from West Ham being linked with a new signing, even in October.
Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee has recently been touted as a target.
It’s been reported that Zirkzee wants to leave Man United in January and West Ham are keen on snapping up the 24-year-old.

However, it remains to be seen how he alone could help the Irons get out of the hole they currently find themselves in.
Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia is also said to be on West Ham’s radar. However, reports suggest that he’s wanted by a multitude of clubs across Europe, and most of them are in better positions than the Hammers are right now.
Ultimately, January is going to be a slog.
West Ham have spent big in recent years and PSR is always going to be on the back of the minds of those in power at the London Stadium.
Hammers fans, it’s time to get buckled in and see out what is bound to be a very bumpy ride.
