West Ham interested in Jonathan David - report
West Ham are interested in signing Jonathan David in the January transfer window, according to reports from The West Ham Way.
Reliable source ExWHUemployee has suggested that the Hammers are one of the clubs in the race for the 21-year-old striker, but it is difficult at this stage to pull off a deal for him.
Earlier this week, Italian media outlet CalcioMercato reported that David likes West Ham and that he could be ready to move away from the French club.
The 21-year-old has been in superb form for the French club and has been a key player for them.
West Ham are looking to exploit the French market mainly because several French clubs are struggling financially, and they would be willing to sell their players.
The Hammers are looking to sign a defender and a striker in January and could look to the French market which is a good catchment area for young talents.
Ex has shared that the Hammers are also interested in signing David’s teammate Sven Botman next month.
Signing a striker is a top priority. Michail Antonio is the lone striker at the club and he has now gone eight Premier League games without a goal.
David is the top scorer at the club and has been in scintillating form. He has managed 14 goals in 25 games across all competitions this season and scored 13 goals last term.
However, a host of clubs including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Arsenal are keen, and chances of getting him are unlikely.
