West Ham instalments to CSKA Moscow for Vlasic in doubt due to current Russian sanctions

West Ham will reportedly sanction the summer sale of attacker Nikola Vlasic after his underwhelming start to life at the London Stadium.

According to Claret and Hugh, the Hammers still have to pay certain instalments of his £26million fee to CSKA Moscow but that’s in doubt because of the sanctions imposed on Russia.

David Moyes is prepared to allow him to leave either on loan with an option to buy or on a permanent basis.

Sell him

When Vlasic was being signed due to the failed pursuit of Jesse Lingard, we were raising warning signs once the initial links began.

We had seen how he fared in the Premier League and a few years in Russia does not mean he’s ready to be at a club fighting for top four.

That exactly ended up being the case and he was nothing but a really expensive mistake that many at the club are now regretting.

It does make sense to sell him at a bit of a loss this summer as his value is only going to drop in the coming seasons.

Rather than paying his wages and not getting the desired results from him, it’s better to cut their losses and reinvest that money elsewhere.

We would have liked him to work out but from the outset, he did not seem an ideal fit and the sooner he’s out of the club, the better it is for them.
