West Ham insider responds to rumour Pablo has been ruled out for the rest of the season

West Ham appear to have received a boost over January signing Pablo’s injury.

On 2 January, West Ham forked out around £21million to sign Gil Vicente striker Pablo on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

So far, the 22-year-old has played six times but is yet to score for Nuno Espirito Santo‘s relegation-threatened team.

And he won’t add to his Hammers appearances for a while after picking up a calf injury that ruled him out of the 1-1 draw with Manchester United and the 1-0 win at Burton Albion over the past week.

Rumours on social media spread that the young forward would be out for the season. However, West Ham insider, West Ham Football, suggests he will feature again at London Stadium this term.

West Ham will have to manage without Pablo for now

Ahead of the FA Cup fourth round clash with League One strugglers Burton last Saturday, Nuno wasn’t too optimistic about Pablo’s injury.

He told reporters: “He’ll be out for a while, we don’t know exactly how long.”

Since then, reports have suggested that the former Famalicao player, who scored 10 goals in 14 games for Gil Vicente in the first half of the campaign, could be out for at least a month.

Pablo stats

Now, West Ham Football states Pablo is expected to return before the end of the season, with the Hammers heading into their final 12 league fixtures.

However, his muscle problem will “take time” to fully heal. Incidentally, West Ham sit 18th in the Premier League and are three points from safety.

While Pablo is yet to score for the club, he has, arguably, made a positive impact, with West Ham winning three of their last five league games.

If they are to stave off relegation to the Championship, they may need him back pronto.

West Ham’s January signings making their mark

Aside from Pablo, West Ham’s January deals appear to, on the whole, be having a positive impact at the east London outfit.

West Ham’s defence was one of the worst in the league but the deadline day loan recruit Axel Disasi already looks an assured presence at the back despite not playing all season at Chelsea.

New striker signing Taty Castellanos has scored once in the league and twice in all competitions in eight outings, while winger Adama Traore is certainly making his presence felt – in one way or another.

Coupled with the stupendous recent form of winger Crysencio Summerville, West Ham now have a real shot of beating the drop.

Next up for West Ham is a tricky home game on Saturday against in-form Bournemouth, who have risen from just above the relegation zone to ninth in the table.

They have won three of their last four league fixtures but if West Ham can pass this test, they could be out of the relegation zone by the end of this weekend.
