West Ham insider denies Nikola Vlasic-Torino media speculation

A West Ham insider has denied the speculation that any club will need to shell out £19million to sign Nikola Vlasic on a permanent basis.

Calciopolis. It ran with the report that it would cost the team more than the pre-agreed amount but these claims have been rubbished.

According to reliable London Stadium sources at Six Foot Two have claimed that “A senior West Ham club insider” has said that the option to buy at Torino is set at just 13 million Euros which is around £11.2million and the player has no future at the club after falling out with David Moyes.

West Ham

Pointless signing

We do not see the merits of the Hammers buying Vlasic in the first place as he was seen as an alternative to Jesse Lingard.

Whoever made this decision deserves the sack as the two aren’t nearly as similar and Vlasic has a proven track record of struggling in the Premier League.

Whatever the Hammers get from his sale will be considered a bonus as they overpaid for him and never really were going to recoup that money.

Signing a Lingard-esque player was a stupid plan and it’s good to see the club scrapping it to rope in a player like Lucas Paqueta.

He did cost a lot of money but came in with a big reputation and has performed fairly well so far at the London Stadium.

The Hammers are understood to be closing in on a scouting team appointment which would undoubtedly be a quality acquisition and should hopefully put an end to Vlasic-esque signings.
