West Ham in ‘box seat’ to sign Jesse Lingard this summer – report

West Ham are in the “box seat” to sign Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard in the summer according to Claret & Hugh.

The England international is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer with Newcastle also said to be interested.

With several players set to leave the London Stadium this summer, the Irons are expected to match anything the cash flush Geordies can offer the 29-year-old.

Lingard was said to be leaning more toward a move to West Ham with a weekly wage of £100,000 per week likely to see him come to the club in July.

Get it done

Just get Lingard back in the claret & blue. It was Manchester United that stood in the way of a reunion in January but with his contract up at the end of the season there is absolutely nothing stopping him.

He is the perfect type of player that the club needs to take it up another level next season.

West Ham

Lingard is a ridiculously decorated professional playing in all of the biggest tournaments in the world. You would certainly struggle to find many better fits for free.

It is a very low risk move considering how well he did in the team when on loan under David Moyes last season. He was the Hammers’ stand out performer during his short spell at the club and will be hoping to replicate that form should he return.

The club will be more than happy to pay his wages as they are getting him for free therefore the deal is a no brainer.
