West Ham impress Steven Gerrard, hails ‘top guy’ David Moyes
West Ham United welcome Aston Villa to the London Stadium on Sunday looking to put their three successive defeats behind them.
The Irons will be up against it with the Villains themselves winning their past three games without conceding a single goal in the Premier League.
David Moyes will be without top scorer Jarrod Bowen once again which makes Sunday’s task just that little bit trickier.

Villa boss Steven Gerrard was full of praise for both Moyes and the Hammers in his press conference on Friday.
“It will be tough because he has created a real tough side to play against,” said Gerrard, as quoted by Football 365. “He’s created a really effective team.
“I know how his teams set up because of all the challenges we had against Everton back in the day, they were always well drilled, they were always really honest in how they went about their work.
“I’ve managed to meet David a couple of times around the game and he’s a top guy, a really humble guy.
“I’ve got nothing but praise for the job he has done at West Ham and it’s going to be a tough challenge for us.”
Up against it
Earlier this season, this would have looked like a nailed-on three points for the Irons but things have quickly changed.

Moyes’ side are no longer the red-hot team in the division and Villa have turned things around in a big way since Gerrard’s arrival.
The former Liverpool and England captain has his side playing a fantastic brand of football and it is getting results too which has seen them rise towards the top half of the Premier League over the past couple of months.
They also had a very good January transfer window whereas West Ham failed to sign a single player.
It may seem negative to think a point would be a good result but considering the direction both clubs are currently heading, Moyes should probably accept a point if he gets the chance.
In other West Ham news, we think the Hammers are in a good place to progress in the Europa League despite defeat against Sevilla.
