West Ham have been warned about a potential takeover by Rob Lee

West Ham have been warned that the grass isn’t always greener when it comes to new owners by Rob Lee.

The former West Ham player speaking to Read West Ham has revealed what he wants to see from new owners as the PAI talk continues to rumble on.

Earlier this week, they released a tweet that confirmed they intend to launch a second bid for the club after the transfer window has closed and Lee has sent the Hammers a warning about replacing David Gold and David Sullivan.

He said: “You hope you get one [owner] that A; has got a lot of money and B; is prepared to spend that money as well.

“You have to get someone who actually gets the area, gets the people and who are putting the money in for a reason. Not just paying in because they want the best players but actually playing into the local community, and I think that’s what most fans see and what most fans want, but there are owners who are not quite as good.”

Will West Ham get new owners?

The Irons have been the subject of interest from PAI Capital, who have made it no secret that they are keen to buy the club.

However, it seems very odd for a serious bidder to tweet about their plans to submit another offer when surely all of that stuff should be conducted behind the scenes?

It could raise questions about PAI Capital’s professionalism, and it remains to be seen if they actually will bid again – especially because David Gold and David Sullivan have no intention of selling the club to PAI.

Therefore, Lee makes some good points, but Gold and Sullivan are not the right people for this club, and the sooner they sell, the better for pretty much everyone connected to the Irons.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are closing in another major signing.
