West Ham have a Plan B lined up should they fail to agree personal terms with Kurt Zouma, according to Jim White.
Speaking on talkSPORT, White revealed that the Hammers are still in talks with the Frenchman but have another centre-back lined up in case they fail to complete the deal for the 26-year-old.
The Hammers have agreed a deal in principle with Chelsea but have so far failed to agree personal terms with the Frenchman, but it sounds as if they have another option raring to go.
He said: “There is a plan B in place for a defender and everything is in place for that to happen.”
Who could this other centre-back be?
Well, the Hammers have already seen a deal for Nikola Milenkovic fall through, and if they fail to agree personal terms with Zouma, that will be another centre-back target missed.
However, White sounds confident that the Hammers have a deal lined up for another central defender, but he refuses to name the player in question.
Now, one player who we think it could be is Duje Caleta-Car from Marseille .
The 24-year-old apparently turned a move to the London Stadium down last year and has been linked with a move to the Hammers again this year [Get French Football News] .
So, if Zouma doesn’t join, Caleta-Car could certainly be one to keep an eye on as the Hammers look to strengthen after their superb start to the season.
