West Ham goalkeeper Joseph Anang set for Derby County move

West Ham United goalkeeper Joseph Anang is set to join League One club Derby County, according to talkSport journalist Alex Crook.

The 22-year-old spent the first half of the year on loan with St. Patrick’s Athletic after joining the club in November 2022, impressing in European games.

Now according to Crook, the player is on the cusp of moving to the Pride Park Stadium in the near future for the rest of this season.

One for the future

West Ham are known to give younger players a platform to shine just like they’ve done with Declan Rice who is now one of the hottest properties in European football.

It is important that the club’s top-tier management including manager David Moyes follow a similar path with Anang as well as he can definitely become one for the future of the London-based club.

West Ham

The 22-year-old was pretty impressive for the Irish club during the loan spell where in 28 matches, he managed to keep clean sheets 12 times and conceded just 24 goals, which is an average of less than a goal per game [Transfermarkt].

Those numbers suggest that Anang has what it takes to deliver in between the sticks and despite having two good goalkeeping options at his disposal, manager David Moyes must keep an eye on the youngster who could become a first-team member, sooner rather than later.
