West Ham forward Andriy Yarmolenko gives gifts to Ukrainian refugee children
West Ham forward Andriy Yarmolenko gave gifts to Ukrainian refugee children after the 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the London Stadium on Sunday (15 May).
This was his final home game, and he showed incredible gestures after the match. He was filmed (via Zorya Londonsk) giving gifts to children who have fled the Russian invasion of their homeland.
According to The Independent, among the children, there was a six-year-old boy who is currently living with the government’s transport secretary Grant Shapps.
Final act
Yarmolenko will leave the club at the end of the season following the expiry of his contract.
It means, he has played his last home game for the Hammers as they earned a 2-2 draw against Manchester City.
The 32-year-old is a popular figure among the fans and he came on as a substitute in the final minute where he was given a brilliant reception by the crows.
He posed for pictures on the pitch with his wife and two sons behind a Ukrainian flag.

Yarmolenko was given time off by the club during the time of the Russian invasion. He made an emotional return and scored against Aston Villa.
The following week, he also netted the winner against Sevilla and helped the club progress in the Europa League.
It’s time for the club to move forward and bring in new faces. Yarmolenko is on high wages at the club, and David Moyes has made the right decision by not extending his deal.
In other West Ham news, Martin Samuel has responded to the latest West Ham London Stadium developments dubbing it the “deal of the century”.
