West Ham finalise ‘great’ deal for ‘fantastic’ midfielder at London Stadium
West Ham United have been hard at work during the ongoing international break.
Graham Potter’s side have not been in action since the draw with Everton on 15 March and are not back on the pitch until next Tuesday (1 April).
However, that is not to say the Irons are not continuing their on and off the pitch as they look to end the season on a high and significantly away from the relegation zone.
West Ham also have one eye on the future, having tied Freddie Potts down to a new long-term contract at the London Stadium, as reported by ExWHUEmployee on the West Ham Way website on Monday (24 March).

Potts commits future to West Ham
Potts has been impressing on loan at Portsmouth after enjoying a fruitful spell at Wycombe Wanderers last season, making 30 appearances across all competitions.
However, there have been doubts about the midfielder’s future at West Ham as he was set to enter the final year of his contract.
Matches | Starts | Minutes | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Red Cards |
29 | 27 | 2365′ | 1 | 4 | 5 | 0 |
With those concerns now out of the way, Jack Collison has expressed his delight at seeing the 21-year-old, who he described as “fantastic”, extend his stay with the Hammers.
“Great news – fantastic player”, Collison wrote on X (25 March).
Collison coached West Ham at youth level for two years between 2017 and 2019 and is likely to have worked with Potts at some point.

Potter to unleash Potts at London Stadium
ExWHUEmployee reported that Mark Noble played a key role in sorting out a new deal for Potts in what is viewed as another positive step for the academy.
This suggests that West Ham are planning for the future with the midfield in mind.
Therefore, it will not be a surprise if Potts is given a chance to impress Potter when he returns from Portsmouth in the summer.
While another loan stint is possible, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that the youngster earns himself a place in the manager’s plans for next season.
