West Ham fans will love Axel Disasi even more after training secret revealed

Axel Disasi has spoken out on the extra work he has been putting in behind the scenes following his loan move to West Ham United.

Disasi joined the Hammers from Chelsea on deadline day and will remain at London Stadium until the end of the season.

The Frenchman has slotted straight into the centre of the West Ham defence following his arrival, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have only conceded once in his three appearances so far.

It’s clear that the 27-year-old will have a big part to play in the East London outfit’s relegation battle, and Hammers fans can now be assured that he is completely dedicated to the cause.

Axel Disasi reveals all about ‘extra work’ at West Ham

Some West Ham fans had concerns about the signing of Disasi on deadline day, given he had rejected them just last summer.

However, after his first few games under Nuno, those fears have disappeared rapidly, with the Chelsea loanee’s quality shining through.

Disasi recently went on West Ham’s Ironcast to speak about his start to life at London Stadium.

During the podcast, host Chris Scull revealed he had been told by player liaisons that the centre-back puts in extra work after training very frequently.

Disasi was then asked what kind of things he does after training, and replied: “It depends. For example, today was a recovery day, so I did some bike, some sauna, some core.

“Then this afternoon I will go to the cryotherapy chamber. I do all this stuff to be ready to play games.

“I want to play every match, so I have to have all the tools to be ready.”

Axel Disasi quickly becoming fan favourite

Disasi has come in at West Ham with a point to prove, after six months of being frozen out at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca.

The 27-year-old played just 72 minutes of football this season before his move to the Hammers, in an under-21s game against Reading.

There has been no sign of rustiness at all from the defender, though, and he is quickly developing into a fan favourite at London Stadium.

Disasi has not only brought his own quality to the West Ham team, but he has also helped raise the level of centre-back partner Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Nuno will be hoping that the pair can continue their good form over the next few months to help keep the Hammers in the Premier League.
