West Ham fans told to brace for the worst after ‘insane’ new manager update

West Ham’s miserable start to the Premier League season continued on Saturday.

Graham Potter’s time as Hammers boss looks to be coming to an end after another poor loss, this time at home to Crystal Palace.

West Ham fans protested at the London Stadium, with much of the anger being placed at the club’s owners.

David Sullivan has been coming under increased pressure from fans, who are upset at the direction the club has been taking.

West Ham accused of ‘madcap’ managerial suggestion

Slaven Bilic is one of the names in the running to replace Potter, with the Croatian potentially poised for a return to East London.

Bilic was in charge of West Ham between 2015 and 2017, finishing seventh in his first season at the helm.

The 57-year-old is reportedly keen on the job and wants to add Mark Noble, alongside James Collins and Julian Dicks, to his staff.

Tom Rennie of talkSPORT has slammed this idea on X, calling it an insane idea and claiming the East London club has no vision for the future.

“This is an insane idea,” he posted. “Utterly madcap suggestion. The ownership are being accused of having no vision for the future of the club… this would confirm all the worst fears.”

It will be interesting to see if this situation does play out as reported, but Hammers fans are clearly not sold on the idea.

Slaven Bilic a short-term fix for West Ham

Bilic’s appointment as West Ham manager would get a mixed reaction from fans at the London Stadium

While fans got behind the Croatian massively in his last spell in charge, the decision to hire him could be seen as a short-term appointment.

The ownership group have been accused of not looking to the future, and it appears Bilic’s hiring could be another sign of that.

Although he could bring stability, he doesn’t hang around clubs for too long and can be a bit of a volatile figure.

Hammers want signs of hope going forward, and Bilic being the manager may suffice initially, but could turn sour quickly.
