West Ham eye summer move for Sevilla attacker Lucas Ocampos

West Ham are reportedly keen on signing Sevilla attacker Lucas Ocampos in the summer.

According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, the 27-year-old Argentina may leave the La Liga side at the end of the season.

Despite his current deal ending in 2024, he could be on the move and along with the Hammers, has Wolves also keen on securing his services.

Worth it?

The Argentina international has been a regular for Sevilla as they’ve looked to challenge for the league this season.

His numbers, though, have been far from impressive, given the kind of player the Hammers would want to sign.

He has bagged only five league goals all season which isn’t a particularly impressive tally for a player in the final third.

However, this has been better than it was in the past and the official Sevilla website made it a point to write an article about it.

In January 2022, they claimed that he had as many goal contributions in his last 14 games as he did in the 55 before them.

That clearly signifies that he’s enjoying a good run of form, but his “incredible” numbers have recently been on the wane.

The Premier League may be too fast and physical a league for him and it’s better that the Hammers look elsewhere.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have scouted a £20m-rated ‘Dangerous’ British striker and want to seal a permanent move this summer.
