West Ham Europa League run nets the club £38million as club aims for more
West Ham have benefited to the tune of £38million from the Europa League run as they face Eintracht Frankfurt tonight (28 April) Claret & Hugh reports.
Advancing to the semi-final has provided some memorable occasions for the fans, and given the club the chance of a major success to show for the growth under David Moyes.
But the financial benefit has been substantial as well, once prize money, TV money, and ticket sales are added up, with potentially more to come if the Hammers can advance further.

Claret & Hugh‘s breakdown has the club on £10.86million in prize money from four wins and a draw in the group stage, and now advancement to the penultimate round.
Added to that is £12.5million in UEFA TV money, with a 3% rebate deducted, giving a total of nearly £23million from UEFA.
Including the home leg at the London Stadium tonight they will have added £2.5million per game in the capital providing a further boost of £15million.
That would mean the club have made an extra £38million this season from the European success, and with the competition wide open millions more is within reach.
Value
There is a reason that clubs work so hard to try to qualify for Europe, and for the fans it is primarily for the prestige and the experience, but this bonus will be pleasing the Hammers chiefs.
The number is something that manager Moyes can point to as value he has added, since before he returned the prospect of the team managing this was pretty minimal.
If the players can continue to raise their game in the competition and actually win the trophy, the financial returns will be huge.

The Champions League proper is by no means beyond this group now, having got this far.
But those in control of the money are going to need to learn how to spend it in the right way.
It is a wonder that this squad has made it this far working with low numbers and dealing with injury issues, particularly in defence.
As a football coach Moyes has proven his worth many times over in the past couple of seasons, but as an operator in the transfer market, he and the relevant staff at the club, such as Rob Newman, have room to improve.
In other West Ham news, the manager still wants a £67million superstar signing.
