West Ham dressing room update emerges after ‘minor incident’ claim vs Sunderland
West Ham United seem to be in turmoil after losing 3-0 to Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday.
Regis Le Bris’ team welcomed the Hammers to the Stadium of Light, with arguably awful displays from some of the travelling players.
Graham Potter’s future at the London Stadium looks to be on a tight rope, having just won five of his 19 games in charge of the Irons since taking over last season.
While the English manager needs to take responsibility, the players also have many questions to answer as the situation feels like it’s at its tipping point.

West Ham source rubbishes dressing room incident after Sunderland loss
Luca Chianti, who’s followed by the likes of BBC Sports journalist Adam Pope and Liverpool Echo correspondent Joe Thomas on X, claimed there was a “minor incident” in the away dressing room after Sunderland’s win.
The Reuters consultant stated on X on 16 August that on-site security and police were called to the Hammers’ changeroom, with the team coach departing without Potter.
However, sources have dismissed the suggestions and branded them as “nonsense”, according to West Ham Football.
A club insider said, as relayed by the Irons’ season ticket holder on X on 17 August: “We have heard nothing, I imagine everybody was very pissed off with each other. We all sat through the second half, it was a very bad performance. The team flew up there, logic says the manager must have been on the plane back”

David Sullivan can sack Potter in coming weeks
Potter’s future at the London Stadium has come under the scanner after the defeat to the newly-promoted Premier League outfit.
The English manager hasn’t had the desired impact in E20 since replacing Julen Lopetegui, and David Sullivan shouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on his dismissal.
Chelsea are up next for the Hammers at home in the English top flight on 22 August, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Blues get the three points in East London.
Date | Venue | Team |
22 August | Home | Chelsea |
31 August | Away | Nottingham Forest |
13 September | Home | Tottenham |
20 Aseptember | Home | Crystal Palace |
29 September | Away | Everton |
Potter could take drastic measures at West Ham before the end of August, with Edson Alvarez, Guido Rodriguez and Andy Irving on the chopping block.
While some of the players could be on their way out, the English manager may leave in the coming weeks as well.
It’s highly possible to see the Irons losing to Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham in their upcoming league fixtures, which would surely leave Potter in no man’s land.
