West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal set to return v Everton

Vladimir Coufal is likely to return for West Ham after the international break, according to a report from Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers will face Everton on 03 April at the London Stadium, where David Moyes will be up against his former club.

Coufal hasn’t played since mid-February after undergoing an operation on his hernia.

The 29-year-old is ready to return, but Moyes may not include him in the starting line-up.

Ben Johnson has been very impressive in the right-back role, and Moyes could continue with him.

Rotation

Coufal was superb last season for the Hammers, but he hasn’t reached the heights that he had set for himself.

Still, he has managed 22 Premier League games this season, where he provided three assists.

Johnson has really impressed in the right-back role, and he has proved to be a reliable option for Moyes.

Having said that, Coufal is still expected to play a lot of games till the end of the season.

Johnson is a versatile defender who can also play as a left-back.

With Arthur Masuaku not impressing, Moyes can use Johnson at left-back to give Aaron Cresswell rest if needed.

In that case, both Coufal and Johnson can play together. Simply put, Moyes will have more quality options at his disposal.

The defeat against Tottenham was a crucial blow to their top-four hopes. However, the Hammers must regroup during the break, and look to pick up all three points against Everton who are struggling badly at the moment.

In other West Ham news, David Moyes has been impressed by this EFL goalkeeper and wants to sign him in the summer.
