West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal gives honest view after Saints loss
West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal has had his say after the Hammers suffered a 3-2 loss at home to Southampton.
David Moyes’ side moved down to sixth place in the Premier League after failing to capitalise on coming from behind twice.
The Irons poor run of form continues with no wins in their last five games.

Czech Republic international Coufal told West Ham after the defeat: “It was a difficult afternoon and difficult to accept,” he said. “We lost at home and it’s not acceptable to concede three times.
“Twice we were back in the game and it shouldn’t happen [to lose this way], but we have to keep going and be focused on Watford.
“We have had a good season and are still up in the table but we have to take back our basic things – do them properly and we have to be better defensively, as well as being more clinical in attack.
“These are basic things, but sometimes it happens [like this].”
Dismal
The poor run of form continues for the Hammers. Moyes and the team must find a way to turn things around in East London before their poor run of form becomes irretrievable.
The Hammers have dropped from third to sixth and crashed out of the EFL Cup in a matter of weeks.
All Irons will have realistic and ambitious hopes for the season. The top four in the best league in the world is certainly ambitious but something until not so long ago we looked we could achieve.

An embarrassing run of form soon brought Moyes back to reality as the team found themselves in sixth and out of the EFL Cup quarter-finals – the Hammers best chance of lifting a trophy this season.
There is still a long way to go through. A change in form can see West Ham climb the table as quickly as they fell. They also find themselves in the Europa League knockout stages as they prepare and will look to push on from the last 16 after winning the group with ease.
This is far from a disappointing season but it just goes to show how far the mighty Hammers have come.
