West Ham consider Arne Slot if David Moyes sacked amid Crystal Palace development

Crystal Palace have made contact with Arne Slot’s representatives and West Ham United may also consider the Feyenoord boss, according to The Sunday Express.

According to The Times (12 April), West Ham, Tottenham and Palace are all looking at the 44-year-old, who has steered Feyenoord to an eight-point lead at the top of the Eredivisie.

The Sunday Express claim (pg 68, 16 April) the Hammers will consider the Dutchman should they end David Moyes’ reign at the end of the 2022/23 season.

However, it’s believed Palace’s sporting director, Dougie Freedman, has already made contact with Slot over the managerial position at Selhurst Park.

In demand

Slot is a man in demand and it’s easy to see why. Feyenoord have been superb during the 2022/23 season and it appears the Dutchman has the strength of character to manage a Premier League club.

He turned down the chance to move to Leeds in February but could be tempted to make a switch in the summer, with a full pre-season in the offing.

A change is required at the London Stadium. Moyes has outstayed his welcome and if he can keep the Hammers up, a fresh approach is a must for the start of the 2023/24 season. The fans won’t forget the memorable nights he was responsible for last season, but unfortunately, his methods are holding this group of players back.

They’re badly underperforming and considering the money which was spent in the summer, that should almost certainly not be the case. Slot is a more attack-minded coach who would bring a new ethos and fresh impetus to the London Stadium.

We can all see the quality within this squad, it just needs a manager who is happy to unlock the shackles in order to get the Hammers fighting at the top end of the league table once again.
