West Ham close to agreeing deal to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca
West Ham United are close to agreeing to a deal to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca this summer, according to 90min.
The Hammers have been in the market to sign attacking players to strengthen the squad ahead of the next campaign.
As per the latest report, both clubs are close to agreeing to a deal where West Ham will pay £37million in total to sign the Italy international.

The report further stated that £31million out of that will be paid upfront whereas an additional £6million will be paid in performance-related add-ons and bonuses.
West Ham had a more than impressive last time around but one area clearly lacked strength and quality which was the attacking department.
As of now, Michael Antonio is the only out-and-out first-team striker at the club and even though there is no doubt about his quality, there are genuine concerns about whether he will be able to keep his fitness to play week in, week out at the London Stadium.
Therefore, if West Ham manage to get the deal of signing Scamacca over the line, it will definitely going to be a great boost for the club ahead of the next campaign.

In the 2021-22 season with Sassuolo, Scamacca scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances. He averaged 2.2 shots per goal and had a pass completion rate of 74%. Moreover, he also won 1.4 aerial duels per game.
As a result of those performances, he won two player-of-the-match awards and had an average rating of 6.82, according to Whoscored.
