West Ham boss David Moyes takes aim at Premier League and FA
David Moyes believes Lyon has an unfair advantage over West Ham ahead of their Europa League quarter-final clash on 7 April.
The Hammers welcome the Ligue 1 side to the London Stadium for the first leg of the tie with the prospect of facing Barcelona in the semis if they successfully navigate their way past the French outfit across the two legs.
However, the Scot believes the involvement of Brazilian forward Tete gives the Irons an unfair disadvantage.

He said in his pre-Lyon press conference via football.london: “He’s also a good player, they’ve signed a good player which is something which…
“by the way, we would really like to support all the Ukraine-based players and give them opportunities to play, we really would, but I am not sure…
“I think it maybe would have been a fairer thing to say they couldn’t come into the European competitions at this stage.
“I think they can go and play in that country, but the Premier League hasn’t allowed us to do it yet France and UEFA have allowed it. Maybe it is the FA or Premier League here who have not allowed us those same provisions as say another country.”
Remain focussed.
Typically, the FA and Premier League have come together to disadvantage the English teams – they are a joke.

Not only have they not helped the players who find themselves struggling amid conflict, but they have also hurt the teams they surely ought to be looking out for.
West Ham could have done with strengthening in defence or attack after a complete disaster of a January transfer window but now they have to put up and shut up.
Moyes isn’t normally one to complain about situations like this but the Scot clearly feels aggrieved about the situation and rightly so.
With that being said, there is nothing anyone can do and the Hammers must continue to do what they have done so often in the Europa League this season – win.
Lyon will be a tough opponent, but the Irons haven’t wilted under far greater tests as of yet.
Hopefully, this glorious European escapade continues with a positive result.
