West Ham boss David Moyes shares factor that could boost summer window
West Ham boss David Moyes has claimed the club’s geographical location could give them the advantage in the summer transfer window.
The Hammers went toe to toe with Newcastle United – and many others – in the January transfer window as expected when the two sides meet at the London Stadium this afternoon (February 19).
Moyes believes the Irons’ London residence will boost their chances of signing players.

“I don’t think it will be just us and Newcastle battling in the transfer market, far from it, but I do think London is a big attraction for players. Manchester is huge too, but London is really important.” Said the Scot as per Claret & Hugh.
“A club like West Ham, if we can have a successful team then we can attract a lot of good players who would like to come and live in this area.
“We have got a lot of players who have come from overseas and many of them look as if they will settle here for a long time to come. I can see London being a very attractive place.”
London pull
Moyes is spot on. Being well within the mix of one of the biggest cities in the world definitely helps West Ham attract players.

It is one of – if not – the only city in England with everything a Premier League footballer could possibly desire and more so readily available, nothing is out of their reach when they come to London and the capital more than suits the lucrative lifestyle many of the players lead.
Make no mistake, the football has to be the biggest factor. The Irons would struggle to convince players to join off the back of the club’s location alone, the team has to be attractive enough for a player to want to join – which it currently is.
Likewise, the player has to actually want to come to the club and make the difference rather than it being essentially a tourist trip to London which sounds bizarre but has been seen many, many times.
It is without a doubt a factor but Newcastle United would argue the farcical money they can offer players is an equally big pull.
