West Ham boss David Moyes praises Mark Noble for cat saga reaction

David Moyes has hailed the ‘brilliant’ job Mark Noble has done with his West Ham teammates amid Kurt Zouma’s ongoing cat saga.

The Hammers captain settled the tension amongst the players within the camp with the Frenchman’s actions leaving the club under heavy scrutiny.

Moyes revealed that the experienced Irons veteran made the decision to bring the players together for a chat without any prompts.

“Mark Noble does a brilliant job,” Moyes said as per Evening Standard.

“He brought the players together. They all spoke about the situation. They had it out amongst themselves. He did the sort of thing an experienced captain would do, which is great for the manager.

“There’s a lot of joined-up things at the football club. We might not always do the right things or get it right. But no matter what age we are, where we are, I have to keep learning. I had a new learning experience last week.”

Moyes added: “Mark did it off his own back, took responsibility and showed great leadership. All football clubs need leadership, whether from the top, the manager, the captain.”

West Ham

One of a kind

Mr. West Ham, captain fantastic, whatever you want to call Noble, he continuously fits the bill – they don’t make them like that anymore.

The skipper would have understood the importance of having a united squad of players during not only a difficult time facing backlash in the media but what is likely to be the Hammers most important half a season football since the great escape way back when.

It was a truly shocking development that would have certainly split opinions within the Hammers camp so thankfully Noble took the initiative to get everyone on the same page.

There is something potentially wrong at the club if – off his own back – the captain is seemingly doing more than anyone else to help the situation.

He will be sorely missed when he finally retires at the end of the season. The Irons should definitely look to keep him on board under some sort of capacity as his presence at the club is unmatchable.

In other Irons news, West Ham urge Kurt Zouma to focus on football amid mental health worries.
