West Ham boss David Moyes frustrated after repetitive top four question
West Ham boss David Moyes was visibly irked with the repetitive top four questions he faced following the defeat to Spurs yesterday [March 20].
The Hammers Champions League route via the Premier League looks to be over as a result of their 3-1 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Moyes’ side have since dropped to seventh in the table with Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United all having games in hand on the Irons whilst sitting above them.

After the game, the Scot told football.london: “I am getting a bit annoyed, not that I am being asked it because I am also quite pleased because it tells you we were a side being talked about for the top four and if someone said that at the start of the season it would be all belly laughs.
“But we have been challenging and if you said that at the start of the season none of you would have said yes so for you to now ask me it really should be ‘how well have West Ham done to stay until the final third of the season with eight games to go’ and probably only now dropped out of the top four because in truth we have been in that bracket for a lot of the season but with the quality of Tottenham and the spend of the other teams compared to us.
“I think and I said this from the start if we maintained where we were from last year that would be brilliant.
“We have not only done that but we have done a little bit better because of the European games and having a decent run in the cups so I think now with eight league games to go and two games in the quarter-final of the Europa League that is monumental.”

Surprise success
Moyes has got this one spot on. It needs to be remembered that West Ham are massively overachieving by even being in the top four conversations.
Not only that, they have reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League therefore, the Irons could lose every game from now until the end of the season and still have a hugely successful season.
Of course, they will continue pushing but the media and rival fans need to stop acting as if it would be a disaster if the Hammers don’t finish in the top four.
The unexpected for the season was Champions League with the Irons finding themselves punching way above their weight.
They still have a great chance of achieving that one way or the other and they should probably put the majority of their focus on the semi-finals of the Europa.
It will be a very tough route but nowhere near as difficult as the league and it also gives them a brilliant chance of a long-awaited trophy.
