West Ham board sinking into abyss as ‘absolute shambles’ called out at London Stadium
West Ham‘s board have been regularly called into question this season.
David Sullivan and Karren Brady, in particular, have been targets for West Ham fans, who are unhappy with how their club is being run.
Their anger is justified as the Hammers sit 18th in the Premier League, five points from safety, after the 1-0 defeat to Fulham at the London Stadium.
Alex Crook believes that there is one reason for the chaos in East London at the moment, and it is the board.

What did Crook say about West Ham board?
Crook has covered the West Ham fan protests previously, so he has knowledge on the situation at Rush Green.
He called out the board after the defeat to Fulham, labelling the crisis as an “absolute shambles” and an example of how not to run a team.
Taking to X on 27 December, he said: “If anyone wants an example of how not to run a football club, give West Ham a call.
“Absolute shambles. Sinking into the abyss after years of poor decision-making and terrible recruitment.”
Why West Ham fans will be worried about the transfer market
Normally, football fans cannot wait for the transfer window to start, so their club can make new additions and improve their situation.
However, the Irons supporters will have absolutely no faith that Sullivan and Brady can bring in the right players when the market reopens, especially after their failed summer splurge.
- West Ham spent approximately £125m in the summer window
- They brought in the likes of Mateus Fernandes, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Mads Hermansen, Soungoutou Magassa and Jean-Clair Todibo for fees
- Callum Wilson and Kyle Walker-Peters were free transfers, with Igor Julio also joining on loan
- The majority of the additions have failed to hit the heights expected of them
They need to, to get the E20 outfit out of the relegation danger that they find themselves in, but how can there be any confidence in their recruitment after their record lately?
Crook is spot on, the board are culpable, and have made error after error in recent years, particularly in the market.
If they do not get it right, it could be curtains for the Hammers’ top-flight status, which would make the situation even more toxic and surely lead to an exit.
