West Ham are intending to submit a proposal for Matheus Pereira

West Ham are intending to “submit a proposal” to West Brom for Matheus Pereira, according to Twitter-verified journalist Pedro Almeida.

The Portuguese reporter, who’s based in Pereira’s old home of Lisbon, claims that the Hammers will face competition from Leicester City and Al Hilal are also interested in signing the 25-year-old playmaker.

However, ExWHUemployee believes that the Hammers are not close to signing the Baggies star man just yet [ExWHUemployee’s personal Twitter account].

Also, according to a recent report from ESPN Brazil, West Brom are looking for around £30million to part ways with Pereira, which would be close to West Ham’s transfer record.

West Ham to make a move for Pereira?

With Jesse Lingard still undecided about his future, it seems as if the Hammers have had enough and are now looking to move on.

While he was in the Premier League with the Baggies, Pereira scored 11 goals and provided six assists, making him the Baggies’ top goalscorer and also top assist provider [WhoScored].

He would have been West Ham’s top goalscorer and joint third-top assist provider [WhoScored]. So he could have an impact on David Moyes’ side if West Ham can put together an acceptable bid.

The 25-year-old wowed while he was in the Premier League playing for a poor West Brom side and was described as “wonderful” by Leon Osman because of his impressive set-piece delivery [BBC].

So he would definitely be a strong signing for West Ham, and it sounds as if they are preparing an offer.

Of course, the player might decide that Leicester is a better location for him, but we will have to see what happens there and hopefully, the Hammers can sign Pereira.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are looking to sign a player from a Premier League giant.
