West Ham and Marseille accelerate talks over Duje Caleta-Car transfer
West Ham and Marseille have reportedly accelerated negotiations over a January move for Duje Caleta-Car, according to Tutto Mercato Web.
The Italian media outlet claimed on Saturday (January 29), that the last few hours have been key in progressing the deal.
The 25-year-old Croatia international would love a move to the Premier League and could be on his way out ahead of transfer deadline day.

Progress
It’s good to see things progressing and they better be, given the fact that the window is close to shutting.
As always, West Ham have left things for the very end and now they could see Marseille playing hard ball over it.
They could drive the price up and force the Hammers to cater to their demands, which is the likely scenario.
If they want the signing done, they will have to do what Marseille say and that could mean any deal for a striker will probably have to wait until the summer.

That said, a centre-back is the bigger priority so if the club is able to pull that over the line, it will still be considered a good window.
Caleta-Car is a player they have been tracking for a while so there is hope that he’s the right fit and gets on well with Kurt Zouma as they will be partnering with each other in the long term.
