West Ham ace Lukasz Fabianski shares game changing formation tweak

Lukasz Fabianksi has lifted the lid on the key changes West Ham made to get back to winning ways against Wolves.

The Hammers restored their place in fifth on Sunday (February 27) with a 1-0 win over their top four rivals at the London stadium.

Fabianski believes the changes the Hammers boss David Moyes made was the decider in claiming all three points.

He told West Ham: “I wasn’t that frustrated before his goal, because I’d seen that the chances were there.

“It wasn’t like we only had two or three, and then after that, it stopped. We kept on creating some really good chances.

“I think that was a really good sign from the game, because in recent, previous games, like against Newcastle, we struggled to create clear-cut chances. Against Wolves, we managed to create a decent amount of them, so that was a really good sign.

“With the way we played, we changed our formation and I think that helped us as well. Possession of the ball, trying to play through the lines… we looked a lot better compared to the last few games, so I think that’s a very good sign.”

Huge win

It was a massive win for West Ham on Sunday.

Not only did they strengthen their position in fifth place, but they crucially stopped Wolves from gaining any more ground in the fight for top four.

The Irons looked to have run out of ideas in the last few weeks with several disappointing results but stealing all three points last time out against a team as in-form as the visitors will fill everybody with confidence.

It still wasn’t the best performance from the team but as long as you walk away with the points, nobody cares

Most impressively, it was some tweaks by Moyes after the Newcastle result that won them the game.

The Hammers have a very difficult 11 Premier League games ahead of them and hopefully they carry the confidence from this win into the next game.

For now though, all attention turns to the FA Cup where the Irons will look to get one step closer to a trophy.
