West Ham ace Andriy Yarmolenko could return to squad – David Moyes
West Ham winger Andriy Yarmolenko could return to the West Ham squad to face Aston Villa tomorrow (March 13) following his compassionate leave.
The Ukrainian has been absent following Russia’s invasion of his home country and hasn’t featured for the Hammers since February, when the Irons snuck past Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup.
Having returned to training at the start of the month, David Moyes is hopeful the forward will soon be with the squad, he told Independent: “I’m hoping that he can be back around the team on the weekend, but I couldn’t be sure quite exactly at the moment.”

Brilliant news
It will be great to see the Ukrainian international back in action in some capacity for West Ham.
You can only imagine what the 32-year-old has been through with his family being in Ukraine amid the invasion which would have left him worried sick.
The club made the right decision by offering him compassionate leave because he would have found it very difficult to maintain the high levels required with the Hammers whilst there are so many more important issues going on.

The war doesn’t look to be coming to an end unfortunately, but the Iron has his family safe and sound and he can now turn most of his attention back to football.
Despite not being a stalwart in the West Ham side this season, every player has their role to play. Whether that is giving his all in training or coming off the bench to try and win Moyes’ side the game, he still has a job to do.
It will be great to see him back amongst the squad after such a tough time.
