Vladimir Coufal makes Prague promise to West Ham United teammates

West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal has already promised his teammates he will take them out on the town if they can go all the way to the Europa Conference Final in Prague on June 7, according to the Daily Mail.

The Hammers will be aiming for a change in fortunes and confidence when they resume their European exploits against AEK Larnaca on Thursday night [9 March].

The Irons still face another five games or so in the competition before they can make the Czech capital for the final.

And the Daily Mail journalist Kieran Gill reveals that Czech international Coufal has already made promises to his team should they go all the way to Prague.

He wrote: “The final is set for June 7 in the Czech capital of Prague, and Vladimir Coufal has already promised his team-mates he will take them out on the town if they can go all the way.

“There’s a long way to go before that can happen, of course. Tough ties to navigate in between a Premier League scrap for survival and no room for errors.

“But as West Ham head to Larnaca, they must embrace how much this competition matters if they want to salvage some pride out of their 2022-23 season.”

Massive

It would certainly be a massive achievement should the Hammers go all the way to the final in Prague, let alone win the whole competition.

The Irons have endured a torrid Premier League campaign so far this season, currently sitting in 16th in the table and just two points from the bottom of the table.

Moyes and his men will need to conjure up something remarkably special if they are to make the final, something totally different from what they’ve shown domestically, and that is a huge ask. But, it’s not impossible.

And Coufal has already provided an extra incentive for his teammates should they make the June 7 showpiece but painting the town in Hammers colours should only be done if they win the trophy, not before the game.
