Vladimir Coufal hails ‘unbelievable’ West Ham victory v Sevilla
Last night was one that no West Ham fan, player or staff member will ever forget as they turned around a 1-0 deficit to advance in the Europa League.
Andriy Yarmolenko grabbed the decisive goal in extra time after Tomas Soucek had drawn the Hammers level earlier in the game to send the London Stadium into party mode.
David Moyes’ side now have their name in the hat for the quarter-final along with the likes of Barcelona and Lyon and potentially just five games away from lifting the trophy.
Czech Republic international Vladimir Coufal was, unfortunately, unable to take any part in the tie through injury but he watched on from afar and revelled in his teammates’ success.
“Guys were unbelievable tonight, what an atmosphere. Wow, West Ham is massive,” the 29-year-old said via his personal Twitter account.
Coufal or Johnson?
Moyes has a very tough decision to make when Coufal returns from injury given the form of Ben Johnson every time he has been called upon.
For the big games, when experience matters, Coufal has to get the nod ahead of the homegrown Johnson but the younger, energetic young man has stood up to every test that has been thrown at him so far.

Maybe he is more deserving of being given some faith by the manager but if he keeps Coufal out been when he is fully fit, he could risk the Czech becoming unhappy with a lack of playing time.
It’s not a situation unknown to Moyes or any manager in football so one would expect rotation from week to week at the London Stadium regardless of who is the opponents on the day.
In other West Ham news, Spanish newspapers have been reacting to last night’s game as Sevilla were dumped out of the Europa League.
