Vladimir Coufal and reps still unhappy with West Ham contract talks

West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal and his representatives remain unhappy over contract talks, according to the Standard.

The Czech Republic international has been in talks for quite some time now, with only one year remaining on his deal after this season.

Claret and Hugh even suggested this morning that a major wage hike was in the works for Coufal and Thomas Soucek.

This latest update contradicts those before it.

West Ham have hopefully learned their lesson with the likes of Declan Rice, and that this success doesn’t guarantee our star men will stick around.

Coufal and his representatives have been unhappy for quite some time, but it appears to have dragged on.

More than one offer must surely have been made during this time, but nothing is changing as this progresses.

Get it done.

There is simply no excuse for this to not go through.

Coufal has been sensational and a critical part of this transformation at the London Stadium that has delivered European football.

Despite a major wage hike being mooted, it doesn’t look as though it has actually been placed on the table as of yet.

That is what Coufal will want, let’s make no secret about that and now it is time for GSB to give him exactly that – he deserves it.

If this isn’t announced in the coming months as the season drags on, there will start to be questions asked.
