‘Fighting for their lives’ – Matt Jarvis makes prediction for West Ham v Wolves
Matt Jarvis has predicted a tough evening for West Ham United when they welcome Wolves to the London Stadium on Saturday.
The Premier League finally returns on Wednesday after three months away, but the Irons will have to wait until the weekend.
West Ham aren’t in a good spot right now and only sit outside of the relegation zone on goal difference with nine games left to play.
Jarvis pointed out Wolves’ front-three as the main dangermen, before claiming that a draw wouldn’t be enough for the Hammers on their return.
“Any team coming up against Traore, Jota and Jimenez as a front three will find it very difficult,” he told Claret and Hugh.
“West Ham are fighting for their lives and need to start winning.
“For them, maybe a draw isn’t enough, so that could play into Wolves’ favour as they like to drop off a little bit, let teams have possession, and then pounce with the players they have up front.”
David Moyes will need his side to put in a much better display than the one at Molineux in the 2-0 defeat back in December where they were dominated.
Wolves managed 13 shots on goal to the Hammers’ six, and kept the ball in better areas, completing seven more key passes according to WhoScored.
Moyes will know that his side have only won two Premier League games since the turn of the year, and that is relegation form – something that must change and quick, starting against Wolves.
