Update emerges on Pablo Fornals West Ham United exit amid high wage demands

West Ham attacking midfielder Pablo Fornals is demanding high wages amid interest from Real Betis, claim El Desmarque.

According to the Spanish media outlet [28 July], the La Liga club have already made contact and have further talks scheduled with the 27-year-old.

However, his wage demands are something that are putting the deal in jeopardy, as things stand.

Keep him

Fornals can play multiple positions so it makes a lot of sense to keep him at the club beyond September.

With Declan Rice gone, Aaron Cresswell and Gianluca Scamacca likely to leave, David Moyes would not want another first-team exit.

Given how slow the club’s recruitment has been this summer, if Fornals is to leave, he will also need replacing.

It’s baffling how after selling Rice and getting nine figures for him, the Hammers are still struggling to bring in new players.

Bids have been made for multiple players but apart from Carlos Borges, there does not seem to be concrete progress made towards signing any player thus far.

Fornals is perhaps earning a decent wage at West Ham and would not want a reduced salary to play for Betis.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
