Troy Deeney shares Julen Lopetegui sack admission in new West Ham United v Everton prediction
Troy Deeney believes West Ham could face another defeat as they welcome Everton to the London Stadium on Saturday.
The Hammers come into the clash off the back of a rather disappointing 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend, having gone down to 10 men after a stupid challenge from Edson Alvarez.
Following the loss, Julen Lopetegui’s side just six points above the relegation zone, which is far from ideal, but Sean Dyche’s side are even worse off, being just four points above 17th-place Ipswich Town.
Speaking live via talkSPORT on Friday (8 November, 11:35am), Deeney said: “Every time I think that West Ham are going to have a bad performance and he [Lopetegui] is going to get sacked, they just pull one out of the fire.
“They got a great result against Man United but it wasn’t a great performance. If I had to put my neck on the line, I’d trust Sean Dyche over Lopetegui.”
West Ham United to face back-to-back defeats against Nottingham Forest and Everton?
Lopetegui is certainly skating on thin ice after the opening 10 matches of the Premier League season, and the Spaniard cannot afford to drop points against a relegation-threatened side at home.
Dyche is in a similar position at Goodison Park, having recently lost 1-0 to Southampton in their last game, and Lopetegui will feel he has more than enough quality to sink the Toffees.
Even with Mohammed Kudus and Alvarez serving bans, the squad has more than enough talent to fill their spots in the starting XI, but the new playing style has not been good enough at all.

Many fans were hoping the side could build on the last-gasp 2-1 win over Manchester United but this could not have been further from the trust after shipping three unanswered goals at The City Ground.
While many would expect that Lopetegui is running out of time to save his job in East London, it is understood that the West Ham hierarchy have no plans to sack him, even with another loss this weekend.
