Troy Deeney raves about West Ham pair Craig Dawson & Mark Noble

Watford forward Troy Deeney is thrilled by his former teammate Craig Dawson before also sharing lofty praise for West Ham captain Mark Noble.

It is fair to say Deeney and West Ham have not always got on – the 32-year-old goaded our supporters after scoring a penalty in 2018.

However, the forward always shows honesty and is not afraid to tell it how he sees it and believes the Irons are performing better than many would have expected and highlighted two players for applause.

He wrote in The Sun, “You look around West Ham and you see a lot of people – like Craig [Dawson] – who are proving doubters wrong.

“One-club men like Noble are virtually non-existent in the modern game.

“I’m sure he could have moved and earned more money elsewhere but he loves that club.

“I hope he gets guards of honour everywhere he goes next season. We won’t see his like again.”

Unsung heroes

In the first part of the season, Dawson and Noble barely featured but they undoubtedly had a positive impact in the dressing room.

Both have vast experience and would likely have helped not just the players but David Moyes and his coaching staff – particularly Noble.

We feel the skipper is not spoken about often enough in the media as there are few Premier League players who have given their all for their club as much as him.

He is in a class of his own when it comes to loyalty – Steven Gerrard and John Terry are often praised for that but unlike Noble, they moved to other teams at the end of their careers.

A guard of honour may be a bit much but we hope each club and opponent treats Noble with class.

After all, Noble has always shown class and respect during his career.

It will be a sad day when he hangs up his boots but watching him play in Europe would be a fitting way to end his playing career with us.
