Trevor Sinclair blown away by West Ham impact of Vladimir Coufal
Trevor Sinclair has heaped praise on West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal for his “excellent” start to life in the Premier League.
The Czech Republic international has started every game since arriving in the summer and has impressed massively down the right.
Sinclair was delighted with how he defended against Aston Villa, keeping quiet some of their most influential players in the 2-1 win.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Sinclair was full of praise for the Irons and their perfect start to the Premier League season from their new signing.
“Vladimir Coufal has been excellent,” he said.
Jim White then joined that praised, claiming he had his hands full with marking Jack Grealish on Monday, a test Sinclair believed he passed.
“He stuck to his task. He’s a man, you can tell that you’re buying experience, you’re buying someone who sticks to their guns.”
Coufal was superb once again last night.
David Moyes has clearly unearthed another gem from the Czech Republic after the signing of Tomas Soucek last season as well.
The 28-year-old made five interceptions and eight recoveries according to WyScout, only misplacing three of his passes in the game.
Grealish may have scored one goal, but that came straight through the middle and when he was out wide, the England international was often frustrated and drifted back inside.
The Hammers’ transformation in defence has been key to this success, and Coufal has played a massive role in that.
