Trabzonspor want West Ham winger Andriy Yarmolenko in January

Trabzonspor are interested in signing West Ham United winger Andriy Yarmolenko when the January transfer window opens, according to Fanatik.

The current Super Lig leaders want attacking reinforcements with Gervinho out injured after tearing his Anterior Cruciate Ligament, and they have identified the Ukraine international, 32, as a target.

The agents of the West Ham forward have also offered him to Trabzonspor, and the Turkish outfit are looking to make enquiries in order to know how much a January deal would cost them.

Good deal?

With around six months left on Yarmolenko’s contract at the London Stadium, getting something from a sale in January makes sense with an extension not on the cards.

The former Borussia Dortmund man has played just 36 minutes of Premier League football this season and five games across the Europa League and League Cup, but he is yet to score nor assist.

Yarmolenko is not in David Moyes’ plans, starting just one league game last term, and the Hammers boss could be open to letting him leave.

With just 10 goals to his name in 64 games since joining the club for £17.5million in the summer of 2018 [BBC], the Ukrainian has clearly struggled to impress.

He will not fetch much if sold in January, but that could be better than losing him for nothing in the summer.

West Ham could do with some attacking signings in the winter, and selling Yarmolenko and adding to any fee he fetches could make some sense.
