Torino press hard to sign West Ham United midfielder Nikola Vlasic

Torino are confident that at some point they can convince West Ham to do a deal for Nikola Vlasic, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The famous pink newspaper reported on their printed edition (22 June, page 17) that Torino have made “advances”, as there is growing confidence that Vlasic could leave the Hammers this summer.

The Serie A club are “raising the pressure” to get a deal done for the Croatian midfielder.

Difficult

Vlasic endured a frustrating time at the London Stadium last season, following his £26.8million move from CSKA Moscow.

Ideally, the Hammers can send him out on loan, where he can get regular games to get his confidence back.

West Ham need to bolster their midfield areas, especially after Mark Noble has retired. Losing Vlasic would mean, there should be a shortage of options.

The Atheltic reported on 22 June that Vlasic will not be allowed to leave unless the Hammers sign anyone.

Hull City’s Keane Lewis-Potter is one of the players being targeted, but the Hammers are yet to seriously make a move for him.

It seems Torino are ready to wait. They feel Vlasic could be allowed to move on, which means they have a chance here. Moreover, there is a suggestion that the player equally desires to leave this summer.

At the moment, it looks complicated but Vlasic should only be allowed to leave, either permanently or on a short-term deal, if there’s a replacement in place.
