Tony Cottee picks out the positions he wants to see West Ham strengthen
Tony Cottee has revealed that he would like to see West Ham sign a striker and a centre-back in the January transfer window.
The former Irons forward turned Sky Sports pundit was speaking on his personal Twitter account about his old club.
Cottee thinks that if the Hammers want to keep up a challenge on the European places, they need to strengthen the spine of the team.
He said: “January transfer window around the corner Hammers fans. CB and striker should be the priority to keep this European chase going. Who do you think we should be targeting? “
Will West Ham listen?
It seems pretty obvious to absolutely everyone that the Irons need to sign a striker and at least one centre-back.

Therefore, it is no surprise to see Cottee making this claim as well.
However, he could be absolutely spot on about the Hammers’ pursuit of European football.
The teams around them have deep squads with various players for most positions; however, the Hammers currently have two fit first-team centre-backs and one first-team striker.
So, if they are to keep going in the Europa League, the Premier League, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, then they need to make some signings.
January could prove to be absolutely crucial for David Moyes’ side, and if they don’t add the right players, the rest of the season could become very tough.
However, if they do sign a centre-back and a striker, then we believe they can be confident of a good season.
In other West Ham news, Moyes is considering a major tactical switch ahead of the game tomorrow.
