Tony Carr compares West Ham ace Declan Rice to Frank Lampard
West Ham United have been blessed with some highly talented players coming through their youth setup and there might not be many better than Declan Rice.
The 23-year-old has starred for David Moyes’ Irons this season which has seen the club slap a £150million asking price on his head [Daily Mail].
His stellar displays in the claret and blue have rightly seen him compared to some of the country’s and the world’s best midfielders and the accolades keep on coming.

Rice’s former coach Tony Carr sees a lot of similarities between him and former Hammer Frank Lampard in the way they play the game.
“There are many similarities between Frank and Dec,” Carr said in an interview with The Sun. “Passing, vision, passion, dedication and fitness. And humility. They both have it in abundance.
“The only thing missing for Declan is Frank would score 20 goals a season. But to be a true all-around midfielder, Dec has to chip in with at least eight to ten every campaign.
“He has some way to go but is heading in the same direction as Frank. It’s a target to emulate Frank’s achievements and become a legend in his own right.”
Best in the business
Time and time again, Rice has proven to us that he is among the very best of the world’s midfield talent and it should come as no surprise to see interest in him from other clubs spike.

The Irons’ vice-captain not only dominates the middle of the park week after week but also possesses incredibly impressive leadership qualities that are becoming increasingly hard to find in the modern game.
West Ham will be sad to lose him in the summer should he go but the best in the world needs to be playing at the very top level.
The Hammers aren’t quite there just yet which might see him leave the London Stadium after some fantastic years but he has earned his chance.
Whether he goes on to carry a legacy like Lampard’s is something we won’t know for a number of years but he is going about it the right way so far.
In other West Ham news, Michail Antonio has detailed an unseen flashpoint in the Irons’ game against Tottenham that left him shocked.
