Tomas Soucek welcomes Nayef Aguerd amid West Ham exit rumours

West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has welcomed new signing Nayef Aguerd on Instagram amid the midfielder’s intensifying West Ham exit rumours.

The Czech Republic international has been linked with a move away from the club, with Aston Villa most recently being linked to the box-to-box midfielder [The Sun].

However, despite these exit rumours, Soucek was present as all international players returned to training on 11 July and seemed in good spirits on social media as he welcomed his new signing.

The Villains have recently shown an interest in the player, as Steven Gerrard aims to bolster his central midfield options.

Soucek has proved to be a successful signing since signing from Slavia Prague two years ago, showing his dynamism in midfield and becoming a goal-scoring threat, especially in aerial situations.

Since joining the club in July 2020, Soucek has made 101 appearances for the club, scoring 18 times, providing two assists, and forming a solid midfield partnership with captain Declan Rice.

The Czech Republic captain, who has made 52 appearances for his country, also has two years left on his contract, and would not be a cheap player to acquire.
