Tomas Soucek reacts as West Ham agree terms at London Stadium
Tomas Soucek has been hotly tipped to depart West Ham this summer.
The 30-year-old has been one of the Hammers’ most impactful signings in the last few years, and he has turned in consistently top-quality performances across his five-and-a-half-year stint in E20.
Soucek’s contract at West Ham is due to expire in the summer of 2027, but there have been suggestions that he could depart this summer instead, as his former boss David Moyes has shown an interest in taking him to Everton.
The Czech international has been a stalwart for the East Londoners over the years, but it has been unclear as to where his future may lie beyond this summer.

Soucek reacts as West Ham confirm Diouf transfer
It has been mooted that West Ham could potentially extend Soucek’s current deal to prolong his stay at the London Stadium.
The Hammers have seen several long-serving players depart already this summer, and the midfielder could be crucial to ensure the identity of the club continues to be instilled in the squad as Graham Potter begins to bring in fresh faces.
Potter’s side have been slow off the mark in the transfer window this summer, but they finally confirmed their first new addition on Tuesday (15 July), with El Hadji Malick Diouf sealing his move to the Premier League.
The wing-back has joined from Slavia Prague and has penned a long-term contract.
West Ham confirmed Diouf’s arrival on their Instagram page, and Soucek responded by liking the post, effectively offering his seal of approval to the signing.
Potter needs more additions
Potter has arguably been dealt a tough hand at West Ham so far, as he has been left to pick up the pieces from Julen Lopetegui’s disastrous reign.
Diouf’s arrival is certainly a promising start, but the former Chelsea and Brighton boss will need plenty more new additions through the door before the opening day of the season, if he is to lead the team up the table next term.
West Ham are a club who have designs on challenging the Premier League’s elite and becoming regular contenders for European football, however, their transfer business simply hasn’t reflected that recently.
Potter now faces the daunting prospect of having to simultaneously clear out some of the players on the fringes of his squad, while also targeting replacements who will be able to come in and have a positive impact.
