Tomas Soucek, Mark Noble and Kurt Zouma in contention for West Ham v Manchester United

West Ham could have Tomas Soucek, Mark Noble and Kurt Zouma all available to face Manchester United, according to Football.London.

The Hammers travel to Old Trafford to take on the Red Devils on Saturday (22 January), and they will be aiming to bounce back with a victory after last weekend’s 3-2 loss at the hands of Leeds United at the London Stadium.

The aforementioned trio were missing against the Whites, with Soucek and Zouma unavailable due to Covid, while the injured Noble was close to being involved on Sunday.

Good news

The West Ham defence was all over the place against Marcelo Bielsa’s side, with Issa Diop unable to contain the visitors’ attack.

In the absence of Noble and Soucek, Manuel Lanzini dropped into central midfield alongside Declan Rice, but he struggled with the Whites’ pressing despite doing incredibly well against Norwich City.

Man Utd are one of the Hammers’ direct rivals for the top-four, and a fierce contest is definitely on the cards.

It is why the Irons need their best players available, and having Soucek return to play with Rice will be huge.

Should the Czech Republic international manage to turn up and put in a top performance alongside his English counterpart, winning the midfield battle at the Theatre of Dreams is guaranteed.

The Diop and Craig Dawson partnership is just not inspiring, and having Zouma back will be a huge relief.

Their lack of quality squad depth told against Leeds, and West Ham need to make a few quality additions this month to keep their chances of securing Champions League football for next season alive.
