Toby Cudworth impressed with Nikola Vlasic performance against Russia

Croatian attacker Nikola Vlasic is going to be a great addition for West Ham United, reckons 90min journalist Toby Cudworth.

The 23-year-old joined the Hammers from CSKA Moscow on transfer deadline day but is currently on international duty with his country.

Croatia kicked off their World Cup qualifying campaign with a goalless draw against Russia on Wednesday night, and Vlasic was one of the best performers for his side.

Cudworth, who covered the Hammers a lot during the transfer window, was more than impressed with the performances of the attacking midfielder, taking to his personal Twitter account to react.

He said: “Watched a little bit of West Ham new boy Nikola Vlasic in action for Croatia…

“Can confirm he’s going to be a great addition for David Moyes.”

Top player

Vlasic struggled during his first Premier League stint, eventually leaving for Russia initially on loan after just a season with Everton.

He has since become one of Croatia’s best players, ending his time at Moscow with 31 goals after three seasons.

The Toffees’ loss could be about to become West Ham’s gain as the Hammers have landed a player out to prove those on Merseyside wrong.

The new Irons man has established himself as a key player for country, with 10 caps to his name alone in 2021.

He scored in the 3-1 win over Scotland at the European Championships, and he will be looking to add to his six-goal tally during the next qualifiers.

West Ham resume Premier League action with a trip to Southampton after the break before kicking off their Europa League campaign against Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia.

Vlasic is expected to feature in both games, and nobody can bet against him hitting the ground running.

In other West Ham news, player was unable to complete Hammers move due to family reasons.
