‘Time up’ for Graham Potter at West Ham after ‘shocker’ in sack latest at London Stadium
Graham Potter could be edging ever closer to the sack at West Ham.
With West Ham losing 2-1 against Crystal Palace, further pressure has built on the English head coach at the London Stadium.
Potter was frosty with Ian Abrahams at West Ham after the defeat at the London Stadium, showcasing the pressure he is under right now.
This has seen Slaven Bilic be linked with a West Ham return, although as it stands, the Hammers boss remains in the job.
With that being said, Potter could still be on his way out in the coming days after what happened in the loss to Palace in East London.

Jeff Stelling believes Graham Potter is done at West Ham
There is very little reason for Irons fans to be optimistic in E20 after what has been a hugely disappointing calendar year to this point.
As a result, David Sullivan could still move to sack Potter at West Ham, in a decision which would be widely accepted by supporters.
This is especially the case after falling to yet another defeat at the London Stadium, where the Hammers failed to truly make a positive impact going forward.
If this wasn’t frustrating enough, the decisions made in terms of substitutions also left the claret and blue faithful fuming as the wider fanbase began to turn against Potter.
West Ham substitutions vs Crystal Palace:
- 59′ – OFF: Callum Wilson, ON: Niclas Fullkrug
- 78′ – OFF: Mateus Fernandes, OFF: Soungoutou Magassa
- 78′ – OFF: Crysencio Summerville, ON: Luis Guilherme
This has seen Stelling speak out via talkSPORT on 22 September, suggesting that the Englishman could now be on his way out of E20.
He said: “He’s been dealt a bad hand in terms of options available. If you looked at West Ham’s bench at the weekend, it was a shocker.
“Who does he put on if things are going wrong? When the fans turn, against Potter, whose substitutions were booed, that’s time up really, isn’t it?”
This was echoed by Ally McCoist, who added: “It’s extremely difficult to find a way back. It’s just about time up for any manager who loses the vast majority of the fan base.
“It’s near impossible to turn that around.”
Graham Potter let himself down vs Crystal Palace
One thing that Potter didn’t need was for a larger majority of the Hammers’ fanbase to turn against him after such a poor start.
This wasn’t helped by making substitutions which were always going to leave supporters hugely frustrated in E20.
When looking to steal a point and make it 2-2, taking off Fernandes was bold, especially to be replaced by a defensive-minded midfielder in Magassa.
This was only made worse by the fact that James Ward-Prowse remained on the pitch after yet another dull display from the Englishman.
It will certainly be interesting to see if Potter can come back from this, but based on the general feeling around the Irons, it feels unlikely.
