Tim Steidten update emerges at West Ham United after ‘verbal disagreement’ with David Moyes
Tim Steidten has not been banned from the dressing room or training ground at West Ham, despite a verbal disagreement with David Moyes, according to Sean Whetstone.
The well-connected Hammers source explained via his X account, however, that Steidten has voluntarily agreed to avoid player areas to allow Moyes to concentrate on seeing out the rest of the season.
It was also noted that the technical director did not take part in his usual pre-game chat with the manager ahead of the 2-2 draw with Liverpool at the London Stadium.
West Ham drama unfolds amid David Moyes uncertainty
This report came shortly after it was claimed that the club had banned their technical director from the training ground and dressing room to keep him and Moyes separate while Steidten leads the search for the manager’s replacement.
Moyes and Steidten have been widely reported to have a frosty relationship since the technical director was appointed last summer, clashing over transfer targets amid a power struggle as the manager prefers to retain control.
However, moving to ban him – or not, as the case may be – from the training ground seems a drastic measure from the club, perhaps as a measure to avoid escalating tensions among the hierarchy from spilling out publically and with the players.
As far as the search for a new boss is concerned, the club have been hammered for their “embarrassing” conduct in publicly talking to options despite Moyes’ future not having been confirmed, with an official decision to be made at the end of the season.
