Tim Steidten update emerges at West Ham after Liverpool news from Anfield

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten would find it very difficult to turn down a move to Liverpool if he was offered the opportunity, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported via its website on 5 February that Steidten has been on Liverpool’s list of contenders to fill the technical director role at Anfield amid a staff shake-up.

When Jurgen Klopp revealed he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, the Merseyside club began their plans for the future, with Steidten mooted as an option for a role upstairs.

Liverpool could come calling

Like it or not, a move to Liverpool represents a sizeable step up from West Ham, and Steidten would be silly not to at least consider the role if he believed it could be on the table for him shortly.

The former Bayer Leverkusen chief has been credited with finding deals for the likes of Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus since his arrival in East London ahead of the summer transfer window, making his skills highly sought-after.

There have also been rumours surrounding his relationship and previous experience with current Leverkusen boss and former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso who is one of the favourites to be offered the job at Anfield when Klopp departs this summer.

West Ham

Rumours have emerged out of the London Stadium since the summer that Steidten doesn’t exactly have a smooth working relationship with David Moyes, so his departure could also come as a boost to the boss.

In other West Ham news, one source has shared what they were told about Moyes’ contract talk.
