Tim Steidten spends time on the road to hire new West Ham United manager
West Ham United technical director Tim Steidten is said to have ramped up his search for a successor to David Moyes, according to the Daily Mail.
Moyes’ contract is set to expire next month, with Steidten assessing a considerable number of options.
On page 75 of their Friday edition [May 3], the Daily Mail claim the German has been informed he is not welcome in the West Ham dressing room until the end of the season.
In recent days, several managers have been linked with a move to the London Stadium, with Julen Lopetegui admired by the club.
The former Wolves manager has been joined in the West Ham rumour mill by the current Wolves chief, Gary O’Neil.
O’Neil played for the club between 2011 and 2013, and has seen his stock rapidly rise.
With Ipswich Town on the cusp of back-to-back promotions into the Premier League, manager Kieran McKenna has also been linked.
Who will be in charge at West Ham next season?
The common view now is that Moyes and West Ham will part ways for mutual new challenges this summer.
The Hammers look to have adopted a ‘ruthless progress’ strategy, whereby an albeit successful manager in Moyes is considered to have now had his era at the London Stadium.
Steidten is clearly looking behind the scenes to move in a new direction, a host of names have been linked.

Lopetegui is this week’s favourite with the bookmakers, with Graham Potter’s odds also shortening.
It will be interesting to see which route West Ham commit to in terms of style of football – most notably, whether they bring in a manager to oversee recruitment or a head coach to fit the mould of their current squad.
The club are now looking to move onto the next level and become an established European force, and acquiring a coach for the mission is far from easy.
Steidten shouldn’t be envied – this decision sends the Hammers five years forward, or five back.
In other West Ham news, their chances are assessed of signing veteran Thiago Silva.
